PIF
"Pif, a 6-year-old, 26 kg mixed-breed dog (likely a Labrador Retriever cross), has been neutered. He grew up like any other dog in a loving family. Unfortunately, the family broke up, and Pif ended up unwanted and only tolerated, often on a chain. Thankfully, from his 'better days,' he still has the basics that make him a social and very friendly dog. Pif is very friendly with people, including small children. He loves long walks, trips to the water, and spending time with his humans. With the right motivation, he can be focused, enjoys working with people, and learning new things. He walks beautifully on a leash. He gets along very well with female dogs but is a bit selective with male dogs. Originally, he was used to living indoors, so he has good house manners. However, a house with a garden and indoor access would be ideal for him. Pif is very good with any handling, including veterinary procedures (currently, we're putting drops in his eyes several times a day), and he seems to be a patient patient. We are looking for an active home for Pif, where he could easily become a family dog (with very young children, it's necessary to consider that he might accidentally knock them over). We are looking for a family with whom he can enjoy hiking and other outdoor activities, not just lounging on the couch. He is located in Svárov, Central Bohemia. A non-binding visit is a prerequisite for adoption."BAT
"Batik has come a long way. He even had a brief stay in a new home, but due to his complex nature and serious health issues, he returned to us. From a miserable wreck, covered in oozing sores and with crumbling paw pads, he has transformed into a handsome and lovable fellow. When he arrived in 2022, he was like a body without a soul. He just lay there, only ate from our hands, and was in pain. With the help of vets, we managed to get him back on his feet. Despite his unfavorable diagnosis of systemic lupus, thanks to special diets, skin care, and medication, he is thriving and enjoying life. Batík is a character. He loves walks and rolling in the grass. He's a big cuddle bug and a glutton. We know his time with us is limited, but as long as he is happy and wants to fight, we will fight with him!
10/2022 Bat's story with us began with a call from the vet. "There's a dog here with a skin infection. Can you take him in?" And how does Bat see it? Hi guys, I'm Bat and I was supposed to be put down. A few days ago, my owners took me to the vet, first to get treated, and then they talked about putting me to sleep. I don't know why. Luckily for me, the doctor explained to my people that it wasn't the right thing to do and arranged a place for me at Voříšek. They're known for taking in dogs that have, well, bitten someone. And I admit, I did that too. Now I'm in a shelter and I have a second chance at life. Bat is about two years old, a crossbreed, weighing 40 kg. He's a bit of a scaredy-cat, but he loves people he knows. Unfortunately, my previous owners couldn't handle me, they didn't train me, they were afraid of me, and things got pretty bad. In the end, they decided the easiest thing was to put me down. Nowadays, with so many people abandoning their pets, shelters are overflowing, adoptions are slow, and shelters can't take in more dogs. I hear the words "we'll have to put him down" very often. I'm starting to be afraid to answer the phone. Will there be another threat of euthanasia? What if it's not just a threat and another innocent animal will lose its life because we didn't have space... It's depressing and hard to deal with mentally. Bat was lucky. But he has a nasty skin infection. When you touch him, the lesions bleed and his paws are practically falling apart. He can't walk very well. He's in pain, his whole coat itches."
